and during climb out we heading right for a good sized thunderhead. The f/o (first officer) was calling atc (air traffic control) requesting a course change to avoid the turbulance of passing through the clouds but the female controller handling the tower calls would not respond. After passing through the thunderhead and getting bounced around the controller responded and and approved the course change. The f/o replied that the change was no longer needed and signed off by saying C(see) U(you) N(next) T(time). I didn't think anything of it until he informed me what he had just said. It was a good laugh.
